Day 1 Arrive at Kathgodam drive to Bhimtal see pic 1-4

Drive to Cottage with Taxi to Luxury Cottage at Bhimtal. After refreshment and breakfast visit Bhimtal Lake and then Nakuchiatal Lake. Bhimtal is situated at an altitude of 1370 mts above sea level and is about 22 kms from Nainital. The major attraction in Bhimtal is the Bhimtal Lake.

Bhimeshwara Mahadev Temple, an old Shiva temple on the bank of Bhimtal lake. Near the Bhimeshwar temple is the small hill known as Garg Parvat, which is the source of the river Gargi.

Nal Damyanti Tal, is a small natural lake about 2 kms from Bhimtal.

About 5 kms from Bhimtal is a hill known as Hidimba Parvat named after the demoness Hidimba of Mahabharata.

Bhowali: - 11 km/6 mile. Situated at an altitude of 1706 meter on the main Haldwani-Almora Road, it is a popular health resort.

Jeolikote: -18 km/10 mile. A noted bee-keeping Centre.

Ghorakhal: -37 km/23 mile. Famous for the temple of Gollu Devta, a demi god highly revered by the Kumaoni. The famous Sainik School of India is also located here.

Astronomical Observatory

You will have to travel 9 km from Nainital to reach Astronomical Observatory, which is located on the Manora Peak. In case you are traveling by foot, then the observatory is a kilometer away from the Hanumangarthi.
