Manali Retreat

Welcome to Retreat cottages, run by Raj and Chuki Mahant which were built in 1997. Situated in Log Huts Area, which is one of the prime locations of Manali. Our cottages are just one kilometre away from the Mall which makes them easily accessible to the mall. We are surrounded by magnificent Deodar trees and apple orchards. The Swiss style architecture is designed to blend with nature using a lot of local stone and pinewood. Extensive amount of woodwork for the interiors gives it a warm and cozy feel.

Retreat Cottages offers you 2 separate cottages, each cottage having 3 double bedrooms with attached bathrooms, spacious living room cum dinning area and a fully equipped kitchen with all the modern amenities (total covered area is 1800 sq.ft.). We also offer one two bedroom unit comprising of two double rooms with attached bathrooms, living cum dinning area with a fully equipped kitchen. A fourth unit is available comprising of two doublerooms and a kitchen cum dining area.

Welcome to our new cottages which are situated 1.5 kilometers away from Manali Mall on the Mountaineering Institute Road. These are also Swiss style cottages done up with the same local stone and pinewood architecture. Retreat Cottages Aleo is located amidst the fields and apple orchards overlooking a dense deodar forest.

Here we have 4 independent cottages with each cottage (total built up area of 2400sq.ft.) having three bedrooms with attached bathrooms, spacious drawing cum dining area and a fully equipped kitchen. Here all the bedrooms have a balcony. Each cottage opens up to a large verandah which extends to a private lawn with your own barbeque and kitchen garden.

We also have a two bedroom unit (total area of 1200sq. ft.) comprising of two double rooms with attached bathrooms, drawing cum dining area with an open kitchen. Retreat cottages Aleo also give you the option of two independent studio apartments.

Site seeing in Manali

Hadimba Temple:  Located in lovely wilderness and natural setting. It is just 2 km. from the Mall. This four tiered pagoda shaped temple erected by Raja Bahadur Singh in 1553 is a marvelous piece of wooden carving and figures.

Tibetan Monastery:  A walking distance from the mall in the treasure house of thanks and other related crafts of Buddhism.

Vashisth Bath:  As the name indicates itself the place associated with saga Vashisth is 4 km. from Manu's land. This temple was built by the king Jayamajya around 1000 years back in the memory of his father.

Jagatsukh : 6 km. drive leads on the first capital of the valley is famous for Gaytri and Shiva temple. Shiva temple in pyramid from with beautiful carvings dates back to 8th century

Solang Valley (2760 M):  15 km. drive from Manali is on the way to Rohtang between Manali and Kothi is 3 km left to traditional wooden village of Palchan.

Manali situated in the northern valley of Kullu region alongside of Vayas river valley at a height of 6398 feet. It was the ancient trade route to ladakh. The area had a great importance in view of Indian culture and heritage as it is said to be the home of Saptrishi. Manali is known as the "Valley of the Gods". The Hidimba Devi Temple, Manali. Apple, plums and pears are the main source of income in the Manali region. The nearest airport is at Bhuntar, which is about 50 km (31 mi) from Manali. Manali is not easily approachable by rail. The nearest broad gauge railheads are at Chandigarh (315 km)
